Within this writing I reflect upon a recent documentary that aired on ABC’s Soul of Nation as a special for Hispanic / Spanish Heritage Month. I was particularly drawn to the Dolores Huerta interview and the discussion of Mount Cristo Rey. This documentary connected well to the current book reading of “EL NORTE” especially as this is the first ever documentary that I have watched with a focus on Hispanic / Spanish Heritage. thank you to ABC’s team. Within this writing I share a moment of hope that was derived from reading passages from the book entitled: “THE WORLDS GREATEST PROPOSALS” by Fred Cuellar. This reading was very personal and deep especially as I reflected upon the pain of severed relations, to once again find the continual hope of human to human love.
REFLECTION | REMEMBERING 9|11.
Within this writing I reflect upon the 9|11 commemoration, remembrances and T. V. broadcasts. I felt that it was important as a mechanism to share one another’s grief and honor that the victims and survivors of the 9/11 attacks are real, their stories continue to exist on this 20th Anniversary.
