AFGHANISTAN’S 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

I wanted to take the time to reflect upon the 2nd year anniversary of the USA’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, the 2 year rule of the Taliban takeover, and the 13 U.S. service men and women that were killed in the Kabul Terrorist Attack. There have been discussions in-between the course of the two years with regards to America’s position, but what I think for the purposes of this writing is to place a focus upon the humanitarian crisis of Afghanistan. That is being developed and increasingly unnoticed. As well as the many devastating effects of a Taliban rule, that is handed down from men to women.

While of-course there is a discussion of religious and cultural customs, we can see how the making of shame is created. Especially when women who are single, need to get errands done, and are the providers for a family. Women are faced with clashes of male dominance, and are made to feel inferior. Which have created a concern upon the 2nd anniversary and for the Council of Foreign relations (CFR). That believes the efforts of America’s missions are eroded by the Taliban rule, and have set the country back almost 20 years.

While I think that the current U.S. Administration may not focus upon the region / country of Afghanistan due to the withdrawal. We can see how non-Government Organizations, and those with a humanitarian concern are raising awareness of Afghanistan. We can also reflect to question if the largest humanitarian crisis of Afghanistan is a consequence of America’s military and official withdrawal?

It is with these thoughts I thank all with the humanitarian concern for raising this awareness, and especially to official organizations such as: The Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) for your ongoing and in-depth analysis of the current situations of Afghanistan. To conclude this thought: I think that for the USA Administration to revisit the topics of Afghanistan would also require dialogue with Afghanistan leadership.

The USA’s official troop withdrawal from Afghanistan was a 1 year process that concluded on August 30th 2021. On August 26th 2021 the Kabul Airport Attack took place that claimed the lives of 13 American service members from the U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy and 60 Afghans.

For the two year anniversary of the Kabul Airport Attack I would like to honor and remember the U.S. Marines and Navy military members, as the Hero’s of American Missions to Afghanistan. I especially am reminded of seeing the image of Sergeant Nicole L. Gee who was carrying a newborn baby. She worked to evacuate Afghanistan women and children. She was tragically killed in the Kabul Airport Attack 08.26.2021.
