On the 1st anniversary of the Kabul terrorist attack that took place on August 26th 2021, I take the time to solemnly remember the 13 American service men and women who were tragically killed from the suicide bombing outside of the Hamid Karzai Airport, in Kabul, Afghanistan. With the fallen U.S.A. Marines and Navy service members were also many Afghan civilians.
The Kabul terrorist attack is devastating for American lives and also the Afghan populations, that were desiring to escape the Taliban regime / Government with the U.S. led Afghanistan Evacuation mission. The humanitarianism became limited from the Kabul Terrorist attack.
While it is devastating, I continue to remain proud of the heroism of America’s military, that risked their lives to save others, and courageously did continue with the evacuations missions and to resettle Afghans.
As I remember the 13, the image of the U.S. service woman holding a newborn baby, a day before she was killed will always be an image that comes to my mind with the remembrance of this tragedy.
May God bless you with the eternal life of peace, thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.
