I was taking the time to reflect upon my previous thoughts particularly with regards to the riots, my initial response, reflection, and really not understanding the enormity of what took place. As we absorb what has happened with the response from congress to impeach President Trump and also from social media platform CEO’s to ban President Trump, I wondered if all has just gotten a bit too much? Especially with a democratic Government that is about to form, we wonder where are the points of balance? Where there is a Democratic Speaker of the House, and a Democratic senate majority, to further think about where the Republican voice stands and how to obtain a neutral voice?

We can say that maybe President Trump brought on the impeachment, by not condemning the violence quicker? But if impeachment is a vote on conscience, we are called to ask: whose conscience? In this context, Democratic or Republican? Well we can certainly say that this bias has already been revealed by CEO’s shutting down the President’s use of social media. But then how far should CEO’s leverage their power to control a public voice or opinion? Are they also looking after their own political opinion?

But even as I take to the public platform to publish my own views and opinions, I wonder am I also prone to this shutting down of human consciousness or thought? This is the very irony of democratic and democracy. Whether Republican or democratic a democracy is formed with democratic exchanges, shutting down is simply viewed as the easy way out.
As for the riots: to voice support for a particular President is fine as long as it is peaceful. But I feel sad that the end of the Trump Presidency has been smeared with riots, protests and impeachment. Even as I don’t agree with President Trump’s harsh stances towards immigrants, migrants and refugees. I do think that his administration and especially Second Lady Karen Pence and Vice-President Mike Pence contributed immensely towards this presidency. I am grateful and thankful for everyone’s support through a very difficult and challenging Presidential term. I have enjoyed contributing with my views and opinions too. Thank you!

Confederate Flag | Whilst I disagree with the violent riots that took place in Capitol Hill, I do feel that there is a lot of misunderstanding with regards to the Confederate Flag which I have also written about previously. For my complete thought please read the following blog entitled: AMERICAN HISTORY! TREASURES | LOST OR FOUND?
I find it interesting that the 1861-1865 Confederate States of America are the same states that were discovered by Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto in 1539-1542. #ShaziaBlog #CapitolRiots #Inauguration2021 #Impeachment #ConfederateFlag #SpanishAmerica #AmericanHistory #Politics
