I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. As the New year of 2022 begins, it truly is a moment of contemplation, whereas a number turns into another. A numeral so significant that changes one year to another year. We may have heard of main-stream or mass public media purport ideas such as: goodbye to one year and hello to another. But the truth is that we can say goodbye and hello, but do we really? We carry what is within us from one year to the next. The profanity and celebrations are found within the moment, the turning of the numerals, thus; the celebrations are marked.
Whist the horrible Covid-19 health pandemic has greatly limited us, I believe that individuals who desire to celebrate, should be able to do so, as long as one does not hurt another. Which is why I wished for “peaceful,” in other words no acts of violence or aggression during the 2022 celebrations. I am pleased that the New Years Eve leading up to New Years 2022 celebrations were a success, for the mass public who took part in the festivities.
It is also upon this day I take the time to reflect upon the deeper meaning of New Years Day, as associated with the Catholic / Christian faith, which is also known as the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. A celebration of the blessed Virgin Mary as being the Mother of baby Jesus Christ – The Messiah. During this reflective time, that is also known as the Christmas Octave, I wish for strength, healing, health, success, prosperity and much more. I wish that I too will be able to be granted the strength to continue to face the challenges, tribulations of life, so that we are able to also live the beauty of life. In this way and through this writing, I observe the delicate balance of living life with our human need for spiritual nourishment.
