The truth is that on the morning of June 24th 2022, there was a historic announcement from the Supreme Court, Washington DC., USA, with regards to Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court overturns the 1973 landmark abortion decision.
The Early Morning …… I normally take a moment to meditate upon God’s word. It could be a specific verse or just specific verses for help, in the time of need, life problems, for the Glory of God, or pertaining to the development of human character. On this particular morning I had selected 1. Corinthians (as shared earlier via my facebook post) and also the following verse: 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
As I took the time to reflect upon these words, I simply decided that today would be a day to catch up writing on my blog posts, and review current events. As I began the former, the historic news from the historic Supreme Court was announced. I began scrolling through responses via my Twitter feed. I decided it was best to allow time for the news to settle to formulate a response.
Within this time I read the response from Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and then also decided to watch the reaction from President Joseph R. Biden Jr. While I did find President Biden’s response natural, given that this is a Democratic President. I was alarmed as to why individuals would view the decision as taking a step-back, when women’s rights have not been infringed, but rather improved by this decision.
The decision of being able to obtain a legal abortion or not will now become the responsibility of each state. Thus, states will now actively engage, assess, decide and determine how an abortion case is handled and so forth. Once again going back to the point that legal abortion is determined upon case by case.
To also connect with the word of victory – Life Wins!
Life is a sacred gift. Too often that we take for granted. When the human form becomes frail in nature, we wish we could quench and grasp the fullness of life. Maybe individuals who are not able to conceive, or have encountered health detriments will appreciate the gift of life much more.
I appreciate the excitement from Republican Senators. In-particular who are thrilled with the decision and even from Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) who has already created and presented a Pro-Life Plan entitled as: “Providing for Life Act” (Rubio, 2022) that includes provision for women during a pregnancy.
I also took the time to reflect upon Psalm 22, when David asks God: Why have you forsaken me, he cries out, as he is surrounded by death. Truly he craves life! Precious life and the Mercy of God. This is a victory for human life, the Pro-Life movements and advocacy groups. All state law-makers who have advocated for the protection of the unborn and birth-rights.
And in the Eyes of God – A Victory For Life! Thank you! 💜
