I was taking the time to reflect upon Texas Governor, Gregory Wayne Abbott’s decision to lift the Texas mask mandatory mask order on March 10th 2021. Whilst he has received a lot of criticism from this announcement, I was reminded of the human responses to change. Where we can clearly see and hear that many completely feel that to life the mask order is too soon. But it must be noted that businesses can still enforce the COVID 19 regulations as safety precautions. We can compare human response to when individuals were asked to put on a mask and given the opportunity to take off a mask. Nevertheless it was bound to happen one day, and sometimes transitory measures need to take effect.
Many other states in America do not have a mandatory mask order anymore, and of course it is still important to ensure that one is informed with the National Health Institutes (NHI) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to ensure that one it on-top of advisories and national intelligence provided by organizations as such.
And of course the state-level and the macro level narratives differ in the sense where President Biden completely opposes the decision. But as more states do decide to re-open institutions / businesses and try to re-adjust, National leadership, organizations and task forces must once take measures gain public trust. To ensure people feel safe, just as the many efforts and endeavours took place to enforce the COVID protocols. Maybe it is also time the President and his administration to begin to prepare and offer narratives to states who are open, re-opening and removing mandatory orders / restrictions?
