I would like to express a tremendous congratulations to Harris County-Houston Sports Authority, Houston Sports Authority, Hall of Fame Class 2024! I am proud to join Houston for this annual event that marks the 7th year of the official event of the Houston Sports Awards. I am grateful for the gathering of community to recognize Houston’s historic and present sports brilliance!
I am especially proud of Diamond Cutters International DCI; Chief Executive Officer, Fred Cuellar, loved ones, family, friends and staff. Thank you for team efforts and contributions to support and recognize Fred Cuellar as the official Jeweler for the Houston Sports Awards, congratulations and thanks!
This year the Houston Astros Pitcher, Houston Astros World Series Champion 2017, 2022, Lance McCullers Jr., was the sole presenter. Thank you for your representation of Houston’s Pioneering team and legends in the making – Houston Astros! 🙂
The inductees of the Hall of fame Class 2023 are: Houston Astros legend, Lance Berkman, Comets Legend, Cynthia Cooper and Oilers Legend, Warren Moon. Thank you for your historic inspiration as Houston appreciates you! I am proud to learn of your contributions and especially mention Cynthia Cooper as a woman athlete, who is now serving as a basketball coach for the WNBA. I appreciate that the Hall of Fame inductees continue to serve in their various capacity, congratulations!
It is with these words I take a moment to reflect upon visiting Houston’s NRG Stadium, Hilton of Americas, Houston, the very heart of the city where these events take place.
I also continue to remain grateful for the service, commitment of Former Mayor Sylvester Turner. There is no doubt or question for your love of Houston. The relentless sacrifices included with service, to steer the leadership of Houston. Which is vital to mention as Houston transitions to the leadership of Mayor John Whitmire. I look forward to your leadership and the continued participation of former Mayor Sylvester Turner. Thank you.
I pray that Houston’s leadership will be embraced for the good of the city, Houston. In-keeping with Houston as a leading city of Texas State. Texas Y’all!
