On July 11th 2022 NASA’s Webb released its first images of the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 which was also shared by President Joseph R. Biden Jr., at The White House with Senator Rubio (R-FL) via Twitter. The original first image was later accompanied with the release of 4 more images, with a total of 5 images.
During the time of release, I did not feel a sense of awe, especially as there was so much else to focus upon, tend too. I couldn’t see the beauty of such or the need, when we connect to the World’s challenges, tragic events and human suffering. I think it was quite a natural feeling. Emersonian in nature. As he too could not find anything within his nature and environment pleasing. Given that he was grief stricken from the loss of his first wife, Ellen Louisa Tucker.
But I think that even Emerson would try to cultivate the strength of the human spirit, to re-establish the wonder that is found from the councils of creation. This too we can also see from the images that are released from NASA Webb.
Image 5 of the Cosmic Cliffs that is pictured near the Nebula Carina reminded me of a scientific documentary that I watched about 7-8 years earlier. Where I was absolutely awe stricken with the cosmic universes that can be found within a star. The appreciation for the universe (s) that surrounds the moon, stars, sun, planets, inspire human creativity is parallel to Earthly creations, as I wonder that there is much more still to see.
These thoughts also connect well to the recent proposal from U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) for the creation of a Space Force National Guard. As the Space Force was created in 2019 and the Space Force National Guard still needs to be established. 🚀
