MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 2022.

Men’s Mental health is recognized in the month of June 2022. For this month I am proud to join the efforts to support Men’s Mental Health Month. As within the contexts of masculinity often times it becomes difficult to actually admit that males too can suffer from mental health illness. As connected to women’s mental health to include all-genders. Preventions can be sought especially with early signs, that often are ignored and symptoms begin to develop further. But this does not mean that one purposely has caused an illness to develop more-so as it could have been prevented, but also to recognize the barriers associated with Mental Health care, given that in many cultures and societies there are negative stereotyping and prejudices associated with mental health. The brain is an organ just as is the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, skin and so on that requires care and attentions. And of-course barriers to care can also be associated as health systems related, and the need to prove a diagnosis with factors including reoccurrence, health limitations. Healthy societies require healthy functioning males and females, that also includes awareness of Men’s Mental Health.
