Elecciones de Columbia 2022.

I would like to take the time to congratulate President Elect Gustavo Petro upon his Columbia Election victory 2022. While I have been following along with the Columbia Elections via the tweets from Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), and especially thankful for Senator Rubio to draw our attention, and keep a focus upon the regions / countries within South America; upon the victory of President Elect Petro I decided that it was important to note, to whom a victory is claimed.

Given the tensions that surround the country. Particularly as we relate to the political and humanitarian crisis of Venezuela. I know that Columbia is important to Venezuela, especially as Venezuelan refugees and migrants have fled to Columbia. To also realize Presidential Election outcome will shape relations with the Venezuelan President.

There will be mixed reactions especially due to an election outcome, and of-course populations can only hope for betterment when a new leader is elected. President Elect Gustavo Petro won with a narrow margin of 3.2 %. And from the 39 Million eligible voters 21. 6 Million voted (2022).

I appreciated that while President Elect Gustavo Petro is a former rebel leader that was convicted and served jail-time, his election victory serves as an example that one who is passionate, desires to make life changes, to serve ones nation and people, amongst much more can certainly happen.

With time it will be interesting to learn how this election victory outcome will achieve to create and maintain bilateral / multilateral relations with The United States of America. Congratulations President Elect Petro.
