I was taking the time to reflect upon my previous thoughts, especially with regards to the current events and social movements that are taking place. These events were spurred from the Floyd murder, followed by protests, national and international. With demands for social reform. The unsettling is a form of social disruption, but then again as much as it hurts, isn’t innovation created through disruptions? As we can see the call for the actions associated with police reform. This move can be viewed as a way of settling, or trying to find some balance between what is being demanded upon a public level. However; I think the events have damaged America somewhat on a Global scale. Especially to underplay the many harsh histories that many nations carry too.

As with every nation policy and practices are imperfect, thats why there are always decisions / desires to do more, and continuously push forth social policy. But what have these events done? They have shifted to the lack. But the truth is that America has a proud history, rich in the arts, culture and “races” that eventually began to live in harmony with one another. So even whilst the creation of murders / police brutality, and violences have come to the forefront, I continue to believe that America can stand proud upon the many achievements that are built for inclusive, diverse, societies.

Juneteenth – Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19th, as part of African-American history, to commemorate the emancipation proclamation that was read in Galveston, Texas for the ending of Slavery in 1865. Although it should be noted that this proclamation was heard 2 1/2 years after President Abraham Lincoln’s original deceleration which was dated in 1863.
