George Floyd Protests

Our thoughts of love, prayer and condolences to family, friends, relatives and all who mourn the loss of George Floyd. Floyd, an unarmed person of color was brutally killed by a police officer. His murder has sparked nation-wide debate, tensions mounting and escalating with fires and riots in Minneapolis and Atlanta. With many calling for the allowance of peaceful protests, debate and justice. Earlier this afternoon a police officer Derek Chauvin was charged with his murder. Whilst a nation always will benefit from individuals who adhere to and contribute to the well-being of society, this does not mean to say that police should use their power to abuse, wrongfully accuse, that will lead to violence such as murder in this case. But cases as this should also not be set to accuse segments of populations, cause divisions and divides such as white, black and so on. But rather to understand the deeper systemic issues that are present within systems such as, policing. Where there are individuals who the police know full well should be arrested, put behind bars, but fail to do so because they want to protect rather than punish individuals who do hurt individuals, and are like a breeding disease within society. And yet there are cases such as this that brutally happen to innocent members. not only to one individual, but to an entire community and society. Disrupting the peace and work that many have developed for the security of diverse communities. We extend our sympathies to the family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace.
