I would like to congratulate the United States Congress for the successful passage of the “Respect for Marriage Act” (RFMA) H.R. 8404. I am proud to support this bill especially to place emphasis as well as an important reminder for the recognitions of marriage equality.
While reactions for the bills passage will vary especially according to one’s religious, personal values and so forth. I think that one can hold very deep, personal and intimate beliefs and values according to private intimate sexual relations, that become public with the bond formed with marriage; and also recognize that our public opinions concerning human relations can vary and become inclusive to respect same-sex couples.
RFMA is necessary to protect target populations that are victims of mass-gun shootings, as well as to create balance with the victory of Roe V. Wade. It is also very lovely to see House Speaker Nancy Pelosi protect marriage as one of her formal last acts of Speaker of the House. Congratulations and Thank You!
