REFLECTIONS – MEMORIAL DAY 2024.

Upon Memorial Day 2024, I was proud and grateful to partake in the virtual commemoration services presented by the Biden Administration, and to see the many U.S. Senate members with beautiful wreaths and the colorful flowers upon the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. While these ceremonies are held annually – I continue to be deeply grateful for the observance of days as such.

Memorial Day is a long weekend holiday that comes before July 4th – Independence Day Weekend. Upon Memorial Day I am conscious of the great grievances of family, friends, loved ones, and pray for the strength from God. I know the many questions, feelings of loss or the wish for some closure that occurs with life-loss. And also know that with the faith of God – we must trust God with our suffering, pain and grief, and know that this too comes from God. As the heart weakens, it is these trust points that lend as strength.

It is with these words I reflect upon the value of Freedom and Liberty, and wonder of the views and opinions of grieving families, individuals. How or when these values are defended, or to the degree of how or when these values should be defended? While it is not my purpose to tell one-another what to do or say, one can suggest a view and opinion so that it is reflected upon. As impact begins within the mind. How one reacts or responds – and we all know that emotions can be contained or spilled at any given moment. Due to our natural human tendencies for survival. Which in modern society can be misunderstood as abrupt or aggressive. These too could also be an individual’s way of saying, i need you.

As I move further with these thoughts, I pray that Civic Educators, Leaders, role-models of all kinds will educate upon the misuse of Liberty, Freedom, Free-Will and so on. As the consequences, I bear upon us as remembrances such as Memorial Day.

Fight to Protect Freedom.

It is with these words I am mindful of the Texas Storms, and pray for your continued health and safety. While I pray for your safety and well-being, I wonder how the coordination of events are also suggestive of the former; a mechanism to create shared grief upon Memorial Day. As God saying: I share your sorrow and grief.

Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Thank you for Memorial Day Services and all that is done to keep the memory of loved ones alive. May God Bless You and God Bless America, amen.
