The Dominican Republic is located in Hispaniola, and was found by the Spanish explorer Christopher Columbus. Columbus claimed this territory for Castille, the historical territory of Spain. Dominica’s full independence was claimed in 1844 with the Dominican War of Independence. I am proud to support your Independence day as well as reflecting upon Hispanic Heritages.
