I wanted to take the time to think and reflect, as we are in the Memorial Day Weekend 2022, which is observed as a Federal holiday on May 30. The commemorations for this day are specifically reserved for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of life to serve the United States of America in the U.S. military. I am once again proud and honored to be able to offer my deep gratitude and respect.
Especially to note that those who were there for you in times of hardships, are also the ones that should be keepers during times of success. Just as one looses loved ones through many instances of life, life changes and relationships, a nation and country should firmly take note of those who are firm together during times of struggle, hardships and flourishing.
We can take the examples of devastating terrorist attacks, acts of terrorism, current events of gun shootings, that are considered as gun massacres – in particular Uvalde, Texas. I know that formerly Memorial Day is reserved for those who served in uniform, as I reflect upon innocent victim civilian life, loved ones that are left to pick up the pieces as life is mourned. Victims of tragedy are have also sacrificed for the United States of America.
A nation at peace should not be used as a battle ground. The repeated acts of bloodshed and carnage leave us to once again question the American Dream?
