Welcome May! Within the Catholic traditions the Month of May is considered as the Month of Mary that is devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ Jesus. As is the day of Mother’s Day that is celebrated on the second Sunday in the Month of May. The birth flowers for May include Lilly of the Valley and Wild Rose. The birthstone for May is known as the Emerald. Some of the popular images of Mother Mary include: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of Perpetual Help. For the welcoming of May and to all who observe these traditions I wish you love and peace, to draw closer to the figure of a mother in the spiritual forms. In a special way to reflect upon the motherless, and those who have served and sacrificed for nation. God Bless You.

The Virgin Mary is regarded with great respect, venerated at the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla, Havana, Cuba.
