RELIGIOUS COHESION? JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM.

As the sacred and most holy days of Easter are upon us. I take the time to acknowledge that the celebrations, commemorations and religious holidays of the major faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam are coinciding this year. The cohesion to reveal the ancient historical connections that come forth to surface at present day. The connections between the three major Monotheistic faith that are connected with Abraham, who is known as the Patriotic father of Abrahamic religions. These links serve to remind us of human connections within our ancestral link, from the religious view. To reiterate the desire for peace. For the country / region of Israel, Palestine, and the Middle-East. Where one of the most overt symbols that connect religions is found – The Dome of the Rock.

This year the Jewish people will celebrate Passover. Christians commemorate and celebrate the days of Easter, and Muslims are in the midst of Ramadan. I am proud of the leadership from Senator Marco Rubio (R-FLA) and staff for efforts to include faith, religions and cultures during this time.

While the efforts for inclusion are necessary for community building and religious inclusion. To bring forth ideas of love, peace and harmony. I would like to emphasize that the days of the Lenten Season / Easter can become dufficult and sensitive. Especially leading up-to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. However, we are strengthened with the anticipation and knowing that Jesus rose, a risen Christ. A Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

While I believe that Christians and in-particular the Catholic faith has done much to strive and call for peace efforts, especially to thank the leadership of Pope Francis, I do think that more needs to be done. Especially that comes from Islamic and Jewish leaders within the contexts of this discussion and the Abrahamic religions. Which all essentially stem from one same cord of faith.

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”

— Matthew 23,39.
