I wanted to take the time to think and reflect – particularly with regards to the Coronavirus health pandemic. As we are reaching what we could call a normalization of societal response, where individuals begin to adjust: I wondered about what has been lost through the health pandemic. Such as the welcoming spirits, or even within the mind. Hearing, being surrounded by sickness, disease, illness, words such as these can infiltrate the mind. Creating a sickness within the human psyche. But further we can contend the very mission of organizations. The existence of these. How have they altered or changed.
For instance: we could take the religious institutions, whose doors are open and welcome to all. Especially the most vulnerable. Such as the homeless, and those who are already within a position of vulnerability. How were the needs of such individuals addressed or not? So even as this new normalization of human zombies who are fearful to even look at each other eye to eye takes place. As the re-opening of doors takes effect. Let us once again look towards ones’ mission. From individual, organization and systems. So that services can be offered / accommodated to meet the needs of individuals – particularly the vulnerable.
