I really enjoyed creating a virtual Christmas Calendar this year. Although I did get my days mixed up here and there, I found this initiative as a new opportunity for growth and learning, especially as to how technology can assist for the creation of calendars. My advent can be utilized to create any kind of calendar and filling the needs of business, organizing, educative purposes and so on. They can be created for any amount of days that are required. I also shared a traditional calendar on Instagram. I found calendars that are created for 32 days, to be an inclusive initiative during the festive season, that include the lead-up to the new year, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.

It is with these thoughts that I continue to wish everyone celebrating, or just enjoying the season all the very best. Including the less-fortunate, need, sick, homeless. The holiday season can be difficult for many, especially as the societal construct of the festive season focuses on family, food, friends and gatherings. But for those who do not feel this sense of warmth, the season can be a time of great uneasiness and tension.Tradition, customs, activities and religious practices are important, especially as they are what keep the season alive. But I think that we should be able to break from the societal, or normative view of what the holidays should be viewed as. What about having a simple meal, a cup of tea? A peaceful day or two to rest, relax and enjoy the spirit of the season. Or 1 true friend to share a conversation with? Whatever one desires, one should feel a sense of easiness to celebrate, regardless of circumstances, taking away the pressures is especially necessary, to reduce stressors that might be associated with not being able to fit in with the normative views of the festive season.
