EL PASO, 2019.

I would like to share my heartfelt sympathies, love and support to everyone who is taking the time to remember the mass-shooting incident that took place at a Walmart location in El Paso, Texas. From this incident 23 individuals were killed and 22 lives were injured. The target population was hispanics, and is noted as the most deadliest terrorist attack on Latinos. Since 2019 we could also add the Uvalde shooting that took place at an elementary school, and the re-occurrences of anti-hate latinos incidents that take place.

The shooter was named as Patrick Wood Crusius and was 21 at the time. While this incident claimed more lives than from the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting of 11., a discussion point does arise as the Pittsburgh shooter has received a death sentence and the El Paso shooter did not receive a death penalty, but 90 life sentences. While I don’t feel that it is my place to compare the judicial outcomes for the shooters, I am reflective of what motivates such incidents, the devastation upon the victims and families, as well as the suspects that have ruined lives. We would hope to forgive, and hope for the best for all parties, but there is always the chance of such incidents to repeat.

I wish everyone moments of peace to reflect upon this greif. El Paso Strong.

God Bless You, God Bless Texas and America.
