I was taking the time to think about my idea of a mellow Monday and wished that it would be an idea that came true. Instead of thinking about it, I decided that maybe I should write about it. I guess that mellow Monday has somewhat come to life with the idea of a 3-4 day work week, as well as much of the Coronavirus restrictions and shut downs that have come with COVID. But I write these words from the perspective of a mother. A title that is much under-rated and often times that is sought of as doing nothing.
I decided that the weekend must spill-over to Monday, creating the idea of a mellow Monday. To take the time to enjoy the slow pace, without having to worry about the to-do, priority lists or running the errands and so on, or even to prepare for what needs to get done. Although mellow Monday it is easier said than done, sometimes getting the stuff done gives the mind the same feeling of rest and peace.
But when we force the need to get this and that done, the pressure mounts, resulting to amounts of stress. And we all know that stress can cause illness. We are once again reminded that even in the midst of COVID, the shut downs and the restrictions, are also additional stressors. We must take the time for the mellow moments, embrace the feeling with love.
