The Daily Democracy!

For a while I decided to try to watch T.V. shows in the morning on a regular basis. During my brief observations I realized and understood how politics could be shaped at the national level. Where everyone does have a participatory role, and the right to a view, opinion, and thought. The act of participation, also reveals how words, thoughts, actions will be perceived, accepted or not. In other words, everyone has a right to make a play. We can think of these as miniature systems. For instance: T.V. shows, or even the school, to a business centre. All as democracies within themselves, partaking in the acts, views, opinions, through action, reaction and so on.

Miniature democracies inevitably inform the larger, political arena. Transferring into political party views. So at the national level, democracy and the political landscapes are created. But then I began to think about these ideas, through the lens of foreign service. Or service to nation at the International level. How can democracy, views, opinions, actions, reactions, be the same or different at the international level, levels of border, and bordering spaces?

In my view: I think the mission is very different; whilst each and every one of us is of course able to have a view and opinion – At the heart of service is the main concern of protecting national interests, internationally. As difficult as it may be, because sometimes not everything is agreeable. This is where the sacrificial elements come in to play. Where human beings who have given their life for service, will put nation before the actual political exchanges, and the democracies that take place within a nation.

Summary Points:

  • Miniature democracies inform the larger political arena.
  • The goals of national service can differ to that of the international level.
  • At the heart of international service is protection of nation, regardless of agreement / disagreement of democracy or political view points.

Personal Observation: I think that whilst I don’t necessarily agree or disagree with viewpoints offered, I am glad to learn how democracies are formed within institutions and miniature systems.

My thoughts to share with love & kindness! 🙂
