Upon October 28th, 2023 it is National First Responders Day in the United States of America. This day recognizes the brave men and women of the emergency services that include Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, and all who are a part of emergency crews, such as when one dials 911.
On this day I would like to take a moment to remember the emergency crews living members that have served for the tragedy of the 9/11. Thank you for your bravery, courage and sacrifices. Those who serve with uniform and those who have been killed in the line of duty.

I also am reflective of individuals who have suffered from brutal Police treatments, where while we know that the 911 emergency services are to serve and protect individuals and communities; individuals especially youth or adolescents who have encountered Police brutality or as such, are truly left to cope with a trauma on their own as they make their way through life. As I thought about how emergency services such as Police could re-establish trust relations with youth who have encountered police brutality and the juvenile systems, as part of mental health recovery and reintegrating into society?
