Between May 15th to May 22nd 2022 it is National Police week. As National Police week begins to raise awareness for the contributions of Law Enforcement. I take the time to pause and reflect upon the active men and women of service that protect local communities. We are proud that you have embraced the life of the uniform that you serve, and in a special way to note that this is your passion to be able to serve, protect and much more that is derived from the occupation as Police and law enforcement. It is my hope that police officers and all who embrace the law enforcement uniforms do not abuse this power to take advantage of the marginalized, vulnerable, and fragile individuals. And that your abilities, situations and circumstances allow for you to treat human beings with dignity and respect.

It is also during this week I take the time to recognize individuals past and present who have incurred loss of life in the line of duty. We honour your remembrances and I appreciate all who support those who have incurred loss of life. Your life was not given in vain, but rather for a greater cause. This year National Peace Officers Memorial Day will be held on May 15th 2022, as designated from the President John F. Kennedy proclamation in 1962.
