VETERANS DAY | CENTENNIAL EVENT.

Whilst I have been updating my instagram feed with regards to Veterans Day 2021 – I wanted to take the time to reflect, especially with the new learning and my decision to attend this years Veteran’s Day Centennial event and observance with Arlington National Cemetery. Veteran’s day is federal holiday to thank all Veterans, those who have passed away, past Veterans that are also living amongst us, who have served within the United States Armed Forces or any branch of the military.

I have often reflected that whilst wearing an official uniform reveals ones commitment to serve – too often civilians and those without a formal uniform engage in the act of service to nation, as well as the ultimate sacrifice of life, with the frequent shootings, violent eruptions and tragedies that claim human life.

I was absolutely proud and deeply honored to attend this virtual event, to reflect upon the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and what it truly means to serve as the military honor guard, one that is known as the highest military honor to serve. I was truly touched with the beautiful service, setting, learning and the sense of peace. The Tomb of the Unknown Solider is the final resting place for an unidentified World War I veteran, an unidentified World War II veteran, and an unidentified solider from the Korean War.

Whilst the 100 year anniversary memorialized the Tomb of the Unknown solider, I especially appreciated that this sacred space honors and respects all within this space. I am very proud, honored, grateful and thankful for the opportunity to attend this event virtually, and thank all who risk, serve and sacrifice in-order to safe-guard our nation. Thank you for your love, honor, respect, service and duty for this Veteran’s Day Centennial event.
