Today it is the 500 years since the fall of Tenochtitlan, that was claimed as a victory for the Spanish Explorer / Conquistador Hernán Cortés, here is much criticism to this victory because the tribal people were attacked. It was the way of life, the rituals of killing that the Spanish did not agree with. Whilst we could connected this idea to cultural clashes, I also think that it was inevitable that the Spanish Missions and conquests focused upon claiming victory for the Catholic Church, thus the Empire of Jesus Christ. With this aim in mind, whilst there are agreements and disagreements, this victory was justified as one of the easiest victories claimed by Cortés for the Spanish Empire. It should also be noted that this victory was supported by indigenous allies.
