O8.26.2023. My thoughts of love, prayer and condolences to family, friends, relatives, loved ones and all who mourn the loss of the 3 victims, from the tragic dollar store shooting. The shooting took place on the 26th of August 2023, Jacksonville, Florida, with an AR-15 style rifle and a handgun. The gunman is named as Christopher Ryan Palmeter who also took his own 21 years young life after shooting. Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters has provided the names and information of the victims as follows: 52-year-old Angela Michelle Carr, 19-year-old Anolt Joseph (AJ) Laguerre Jr. and 29-year-old Jerrald De’Shaun Gallion.
While the investigation is being described as racially motivated, I would like to assure my sympathy and support to the community that has been hurt for this incident. And would continue to hope that the people of Jacksonville, Florida will continue to live harmoniously, with efforts and focus to address gun-violence and preventions.
I wish that the grieving families are able to receive support and care from the appropriate authorities. I thank the Florida Police and Governor DeSantis for your public statements amidst your preparations for hurricane season and Tropical Storm Idalia. I appreciate Florida’s leadership and know that Florida is an inclusive, vibrant state, and should not let media hype destroy efforts for inclusivity, and of-course there is always room for imprrovements.
May the victims rest in peace with eternal life in the kingdom of heaven, amen.
