My thoughts of love, prayer and condolences to family, friends, relatives, loved ones, the Monterey Park community, and all affected with the tragic mass shooting that took place in a dance studio, Monterey Park, California. The shooting took place late Saturday night on the 21st of January 2023, where individuals had gathered for the Lunar New Year celebrations at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio. From this incident 10 individuals are proclaimed as the deceased victims, with 10 individuals who are injured and wounded. The shooter entered a second club in the city of Alhambra, but did not attack as he was disarmed. On Sunday evening the 22nd of January 2023 the suspect had been declared as found by the police authorities.
This incident has caused significant grief and break-down of trust to the Asian-American community who wanted to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar / Chinese New Year of the Rabbit. America is a nation that honors and respects diverse celebrations from all cultures and religions, and especially to include the many efforts to create and build inclusion such as the: Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month that takes place in May.
It is with these thoughts I wish / pray for love, support and sympathy for all who are affected. To the lives lost, may you find eternal rest in the Kingdom of God, Amen. And to the injured I wish for your physical and psychological recovery that has surmounted from this tragic event. Thank you to all the first-responders, local and national leaders who are trying to protect, ensure public calm and safety.
This Monterey Park, California shooting / massacre took place as the Elvis family were preparing to celebrate the life of their beloved daughter Lisa Marie Presley.. And just a few days after the National Prayer for the Vigil for life and March for Life efforts..
